Hotel breakfast and pool chill (10 – 2pm)
After last night, you may want to have a later start today for understandable reasons. We hear ya! Enjoy brekkie at your hotel and kick back by the pool after breakfast. A few laps in the cool water should straighten you out.
If you are not staying at a hotel, you could purchase a day pass ($30) to the Hyatt Regency, giving you access to their amazing pool. Alternatively, get a cabana for $199 holding the whole girl squad (up to 5 people.)
The picturesque Dunedin is on the agenda today, offering a wide array of cute, eclectic shops and some of the finest beers in the land.
Lunch at Clear Sky Draught Haus, Dunedin (2:30 – 4pm)
Haul an Uber or Lyft to Clear Sky Draught Haus (or just Haus for short). Go for their scrumptious Dyn-O-Mite Shrimp drizzled with sweet soy followed by the sticky rice Korean Short Rib, or sample the Lobster Mac & Cheese, making for a great foundation for drinking. They also have an AMAZING a la carte bloody mary menu, where you can design your very own bloody– a tried and tested hair of the dog.
Main Street shopping & brews (4 – 7pm)
There, now you’re all set to seize the day! Soggy Bottom Brewery is just in front of Haus, so it makes sense to start there. This quirky-cool brewpub is run by three long-time local bartenders, applying their mixology skills on some forward-thinking brews.
You also have Woodright Brewing Co. with their bespoke wooden interior and “no fluff, just straightforward beer” approach, 7venth Sun Brewing Company known for their Florida Weisse and for flirting with tropical and citrus flavors, the inviting Cueni Brewing Co. (pronounced Q-knee) with a collection of award-winning brews, and Dunedin House of Beer with no less than 40 brews on tap (!) – all within walking distance. Pick a few out of the bunch and continue ambling around Main St. with plenty of boutiques and shops to explore.
Dinner at Crown & Bull (7 – 8:30pm)
Something of a landmark eatery, this cool joint has been around for a few decades already and offers a great atmosphere with live music and locally sourced Floridian grub. Try a fresh watermelon salad and coconut curry mussels before tucking into more serious business, like the Ossu Bucco or The Beast Burger.
Hangout at Blur Nightclub (9:30 – end)
After dinner, head over to Blur Nightclub to cap off the day with some live music (everything from hip-hop to karaoke), and potentially some drag queen bingo. Check their upcoming events on Facebook.
